Émile Ancelet, also known as Émile Ancelet, was a French painter born in Charleville in 1865 and died in Santes, France in 1951. He was a pointillist painter who was also a taxidermist and a collector, particularly of butterflies. He lived in Santes and painted landscapes, often in the countryside around Lille, paying particular attention to the play of light on trees in bloom. One of his works is a sunny countryside landscape. He is buried in the cemetery of Santes, and a street in the city bears his name.
