Biography:
, a photographer and artist from the United Arab Emirates, was born in Abu Dhabi in 1991. She is known for her photographs of life in the Persian Gulf and received her BA from Yale University and her MFA in Photography from the Yale School of Art. Currently based between NYC and Dubai, she has been awarded the Artadia Prize by the New York New Art Dealers Alliance and was included in the Forbes list of 30 Under 30 - Art & Style 2020.
She earned a BA from Yale University, and later moved to New York City, working as an administrator for New York University Abu Dhabi before returning to Yale for her MFA. Her work has been on display at the List Visual Arts Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from July 30 to October 20, 2019.
Her series of seventeen photographs, "Back and Forth Disco," were installed on one hundred bus shelters throughout New York City as part of a project for the Public Art Fund. She teaches at Pratt, NYU, and the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2018, she was awarded the Artadia Prize by the New York New Art Dealers Alliance.
Her publication, Hello, Future (Capricious, 2021), is a notable example of her work. As a classically trained pianist, she writes music for her own films, showcasing her diverse talents.
