Fereydoun Ave was an Iranian artist, born in Tehran in 1945 and died in Paris in 2018. He was known for his mixed media works, including the piece 'Rustam in the Dead of Winter' from 2009. Ave's work often explored themes of identity, culture, and politics, reflecting his experiences as an Iranian living in exile in France. He was also a prominent figure in the Iranian art community, serving as the director of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art from 1977 to 1979. Ave's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, and he is considered one of the most important Iranian artists of the 20th century.
