Biography:

Filippo Solari was an Italian sculptor. He was born in Carona, Lombardy, Italy around 1400 and died around 1450. He was a master of Gothic sculpture in northern Italy between 1420 and 1450. His works include the Madonna with Child blessing Cardinal Branda Castiglioni and the tetramorph. He often collaborated with Andrea da Ciona, and together they were known as the 'Maestri caronesi'. Solari worked on various projects, including the decoration of churches and palaces in Castiglione Olona, Milan, Genoa, and Venice.
