Biography:

Fiona McMonagle is an Irish-born, Melbourne-based artist known for her distinctive watercolour portraits of people and pets. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from the Victorian College of the Arts and has been awarded several prizes, including the National Self-Portrait Prize in 2015 and the Geelong Contemporary Art Prize People's Choice Award in 2022. Her work is held in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of New South Wales, and Art Gallery of South Australia. McMonagle has also been a finalist in several major art prizes, including the Basil Sellers Art Prize and Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery’s National Works on Paper Prize.
