Biography:

The Sorelle Fontana fashion house was founded in Rome in 1943 by three sisters and Italian designers: Zoe Fontana (1911-1979), Micol Fontana (1913-2015) and Giovanna Fontana (1915-2004). They specialized in the production of high-fashion couture. Micol Fontana was an Italian stylist and entrepreneur, co-founder of the Sorelle Fontana fashion house. She was 102 years old when she died. The sisters were known for designing Margaret Truman's (daughter of U.S. President Harry S. Truman) wedding gown and for designing the tightly moulded priest’s cassock worn by Anita Ekberg in St Peter’s basilica in La Dolce Vita. In 1994, Micol established the Micol Fontana Foundation to discover and promote new fashion talents.
