Francis Nnaggenda is a Ugandan Postwar & Contemporary painter and sculptor, born in 1936 in central Uganda. He is one of the leading African artists, whose expressionistic works can be seen in many cities across the globe. Nnaggenda studied art in Switzerland and Germany, and later became the head of the Department of Sculpture at the School of Fine Art, Makerere University. He is known for his neo-traditionalist style and his use of wood as a medium. Nnaggenda's artworks have been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. He is a legendary art educator and his artworks are highly sought after by collectors and institutions alike.
