Biography:
Toby Martin was a renowned sculptor and associate professor of art at Spelman College in Atlanta. He graduated from Morehouse College in 1976. After working in corporate America for years, he left his company to teach sculpture at Spelman College. His sculptures expressed his passion for life and themes of the spirit. He designed several outdoor installations, including 'Spiritual Time', which was commissioned by the Corporation for Olympic Development in Atlanta (CODA) for the 1996 Olympics. Martin's work has been featured in various exhibitions, including those at Clark Atlanta University and Hammonds House Museum. He passed away on April 25, 2012, at the age of 60.
