Biography:
Frederick Hammersley was an American abstract painter. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1919. He began his art education at Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1940 and continued in 1946. His participation in the 1959 Four Abstract Classicists exhibit secured his place in art history. Hammersley's work is in many prominent collections including the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the Albuquerque Museum. He died in 2009.
