Friedrich Hammig was an Austrian instrument maker, active in Vienna during the early 19th century. He worked as a general musical instrument seller, specializing in brass instruments and Turkish cymbals. Hammig's work included violins with his label, indicating that he may have been involved in violin making or at least sold them. The Hammig family legacy of crafting woodwind instruments began around 1780, passing through eight generations and over 240 years.
