Biography:

Gabriela Torres Ruiz is a Mexican-German artist based in Berlin. She was born in Mexico City in 1970 and received a scholarship to study architecture at the Cracow University of Technology in Poland, where she graduated in 1998. Torres Ruiz's work is rooted in the act of gathering and realigning images, which serves to generate new associations and new figurative and conceptual realities. Her practice explores the influence of landscape and the spaces in which we live, and she uses photography, installation, drawing, video, and mixed media as her means of expression. Torres Ruiz has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Poland, and Mexico, and her work has been featured in publications such as LensCulture and Aesthetica Art Prize.
