Biography:

Maximinus II Daia, also known as Galerius Valerius Maximinus Daia, was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 309 to 313 AD. He was the nephew of Galerius, who made him his junior colleague, or Caesar, of the Eastern part of the Roman Empire. Maximinus Daia was a simple shepherd who joined the army and quickly rose through the ranks. He became a successful military leader and was eventually proclaimed emperor by his troops. Maximinus Daia was known for his military campaigns against the Persians and for his persecution of Christians. He died in 313 AD in Tarse, Cilicia.
