Biography:

Gay Ellen Lasher is an artist born in Philadelphia and raised in Massachusetts. She is now a 40+ year 'native' of Colorado, where she lives with her husband who advises her in her Adobe Photoshop manipulations. They have an adult daughter. Lasher has exhibited her work in various shows and has received several awards, including a Second Place Award in the Pushing the Surface 2015 exhibition at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum in Coshocton, Ohio. Her work is held in the collections of the Denver Art Museum and the Galerie St. Etienne. Lasher's art is characterized by her use of various mediums, including cotton, woodcut, and digital manipulation. She has also been recognized for her contributions to the LGBT rights movement, with her work being featured in the 2011 episode of Our America with Lisa Ling titled 'Pray the Gay Away?'.
