Biography:

Geng Jianyi is considered a pioneer of Chinese contemporary art, influencing the direction of art from rise to prominence in the mid-1980s, up until his untimely death at the age of 55 in 2017. He received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Chinese Contemporary Art Awards in 2006. Geng Jianyi was born in Zhengzhou, China in 1962 and died in Hangzhou, China in 2017.
