Biography:

George Linen (1802-1888) was born in Greenlaw, Scotland. He studied painting at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and after a decade of running a successful studio in England, he arrived in New York in 1834 and established a painting career. He is known for Cabinet portrait. He died in 1888.
