Gianni Berengo Gardin is an Italian photographer born in 1930 in Sacile, Italy. He has focused on reportage and editorial work, but his career as a photographer has also included book illustration and advertising. Berengo Gardin has been recognized as one of the most important photographers in Italy in the latter part of the 20th century, with a career spanning over fifty years. His photobooks have covered a wide range of topics, including regions within and outside Italy, lesser-known parts of Italy, particular artists, architecture, and commissioned publications.
