Biography:
Grete Stern was a German-Argentine photographer. She was born in Berlin, Germany in 1904. Stern studied at the Bauhaus between April 1930 and March 1933. In 1935, she presented the first exhibition of modern photographic art in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she lived with her husband Horacio Coppola. Together, they helped modernize the visual arts in Argentina. Stern died in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1999.
