Biography:
Hans Petzolt was a German goldsmith and silversmith who became a master of the Nuremberg Guild of Goldsmiths in 1578. He was born in Nuremberg in 1550 and died in 1633 at the age of 82. He is known for his exceptionally fine chasing and hammering into relief, and is considered one of the most renowned goldsmiths of the late 16th century. He is also known for his Gothic revival style that he pioneered at the end of the 16th Century.
