Heinrich Riebesehl was a German photographer born in Hannover in 1938 and died in 2010. He was a pioneer of documentary photography in Germany and was one of the founders of the magazine Daylight in 2003. He was also a teacher and writer, and his work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums. He was awarded the Lower Saxony State Prize in 2009 for his contributions to the field of photography. His work often focused on the effects of larger forces and trends on individuals, communities, and landscapes. He was also known for his series 'Autoportraits'.
