Heinz Cibulka is an Austrian photographer and assemblage artist, born in Vienna, Austria in 1943. He is known for his photographic cycles and visual poems, which are created by juxtaposing images. Cibulka's work is influenced by his background in Viennese Actionism, a short-lived art movement in the late 20th-century that spanned the 1960s into the 1970s. He was closely associated with the Viennese Actionism group that included artists Günter Brus, Otto Mühl, Hermann Nitsch, and Rudolf Schwarzkogler. Cibulka's work often reflects a message of despair at the disappointments and hurtfulness of the world.
