Biography:
The Huari Culture, also known as the Wari Empire, was a Middle Horizon civilization that flourished in the south-central Andes and coastal area of modern-day Peru, from about 500 to 1000 AD. The capital city of the Wari civilization was Wari, located 11 km (6.8 mi) north-east of the modern city of Ayacucho, Peru. The Wari Empire covered much of the highlands and coast of modern Peru, and was one of the largest and most complex societies in the Americas before the arrival of the Europeans. The Wari civilization was known for its architectural and artistic achievements, including the construction of monumental buildings, the development of a complex road system, and the creation of intricate textiles and ceramics. The Wari Empire declined in the 11th century, and was eventually replaced by the Inca Empire.
