Nyoman Masriadi is a leading artist of the post-Suharto era and one of the most prominent Indonesian Contemporary artists in the Southeast Asian region. He was born in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia in 1973. Masriadi received his training in art at the Institute Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. His pictorial narratives, often with Indonesian cultural history embedded, offer a colorful social commentary on contemporary life and pop culture. He has exhibited in Australia, the Netherlands, and Indonesia, and is also the subject of a new monograph, Nyoman Masriadi: Reconfiguring the Body.
