Ica Chincha Culture

Biography:

The Ica-Chincha culture was a pre-Columbian civilization that thrived in the coastal region of southwestern Peru, specifically in the valleys of Chincha, Pisco, Ica, and Nazca. The culture developed between the 11th and 15th centuries and was known for its maritime trade and agricultural prowess. The Ica-Chincha people were eventually incorporated into the Inca Empire around 1480. The culture is named after the Chincha Alta province, where the La Centinela archaeological site is located. The Ica-Chincha culture disappeared as a people a few decades after the Spanish conquest of Peru, which began in 1532, due to European diseases and political chaos.
