Biography:
Ik-Joong Kang is a Korean American visual artist, born on September 11, 1960, in Cheongju-si, South Korea. He is best known for his work using canvases measuring 3 by 3 inches (7.6 cm × 7.6 cm). Kang has had multiple exhibitions hosted by major institutions in South Korea and the United States, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. He represented South Korea for the 47th Venice Biennale in 1997 and was awarded an honorable mention. Kang is known for his use of mixed media and has created works in various styles throughout his career.
