Biography:
Iliya Zankovsky was a Russian painter born in Moscow in 1832 and died in 1919. He was known for his landscapes and genre scenes, often depicting the Russian countryside and people. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture, and later at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He exhibited his works in Russia and abroad, and received numerous awards and honors for his art. His paintings are held in collections of major museums, including the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg.
