Biography:
Ilya Robe was born and raised in the city of Shchelkovo, Moscow region. He graduated from RGUTIS in the specialty “Production and restoration of artistic products”. Starting with street practices in the field of graffiti, Ilya gradually came to monumental painting. Inspired by untouched nature, the artist visited a large number of hard-to-reach places around the planet as part of various expeditions. As Ilya himself says: “My story is very simple: I devoted a huge amount of time and energy to graffiti culture and everything related to it. But everything changes and is reborn, it is time for a reassessment of values and previous experience. I have always wanted to paint not inside cities, but outside them. Culture and stereotypes around it set their own rhythm, and I respect the guys who continue to do the work that inspires and motivates them. You always have to be honest with yourself. I’m tired of deceiving myself into thinking I still care about the graffiti I’ve dedicated so much of my life energy to. At the moment, I am not inspired by urban culture, but by the vast plains, seas, oceans and mountains that pierce my mind with sharp arrows.” Ilya Robe’s work for the Flight Club is a landscape in which the viewer can get to know the French Alps and the Altiport airport, one of the most dangerous mountain airfields. Mountain motifs are one of the most favorite subjects of the artist, however, each painting or canvas is often performed by the author in an experimental technique and, in addition to classical instruments, brushes, mops, ....
