Biography:
J. Steven Manolis, also known as Steven Manolis, was born in Huron, South Dakota, USA in 1948. He is an American abstract expressionist artist who paints in both watercolor and acrylic on canvas. Manolis is known for his series paintings which emphasize communication through colors, geometrics, and abstract expressionism. He is considered the heir to Wassily Kandinsky in terms of communicating through color. Manolis is also an art collector, curator, and philanthropist. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad. His works are held in private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Guggenheim Museum. Manolis currently lives and works in Miami, Florida.
