Jacob Symons Bonga was a Friese landscape painter born on March 9, 1758 in Dokkum, Netherlands. He was the son of Symon Jacobs Bonga and Grietje Jans Zijlstra. In 1783, he married Marike Wendelaar (1764-1805). Jacob Symons Bonga is known for his works depicting landscapes and scenes from everyday life in the Netherlands during the early 19th century. His paintings often feature detailed renderings of trees, buildings, and people going about their daily activities. Some of his notable works include 'Festivities in the Prinsentuin in Leeuwarden' (1830-1840) and 'Het Dorp Schwabstad in Holstein' (1818). Jacob Symons Bonga passed away on May 22, 1848 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
