Biography:

Camille Boiry, also known as Jacques Alexandre Antoine Bernard, was a French artist born in Paris in 1888. He was the son of Laure-Theresa Cros-Bernard, fourth sovereign of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia. Boiry studied at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris under the guidance of Léon Bonnat and Ernest Laurent. He gained recognition at the Salon des artistes français and received several awards, including the Prix colonial du Maroc in 1920 and a medal of honor in 1922. In 1922, he was placed in hors-concours. Boiry was known for his faithful translations of reality in his paintings. He passed away in Paris in 1952.
