Biography:
Jacques Duval Brasseur (1804-1870) was a French sculptor born in Paris. He was a student of the famous French sculptor David d'Angers. He was a member of the French Institute and was awarded the Legion of Honor. He is known for his bronze sculptures, including the famous 'La Danseuse au repos' and 'Le Penseur'. He also worked on the decoration of the Paris Opera and the Louvre Museum. He died in Paris in 1870.
