Biography:

Jagadeesh Tammineni is an accomplished printmaker hailing from Kottavalasa, a small village in the Srikakulam district, India. He was born in 1988. He completed his MVA in Printmaking (2012) from M.S. University, Vadodara, and a B.F.A Printmaking (2010) from Andhra University. Jagadeesh Tammineni has explored the idea of ‘nation-building’ through a woodcut series, which depicts Gandhi as a master craftsman. He works with reclaimed wood from ships and makes wood-cut prints. He is known for his intricate designs onto wood panels that he salvages from wrecked vessels. His works have been showcased in some of the major exhibitions in India and Korea, including 9th Bharat Bhavan International Biennale of Print Art. He is also known as the artist of non-violence.
