Jan Frans Douven, also known as Jan Frans Douven, called De Oude, was a Flemish painter born in Sint-Truiden, Belgium in 1656. He died in 1727. Douven was known for his portraits and equestrian paintings. He worked in the Netherlands, where he became a court painter for the elector Johann Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg. Douven's style was influenced by the Flemish and Dutch Baroque traditions.
