Biography:
Jean-Baptiste Lully was a French composer, violinist, and dancer. He is considered one of the most important figures in the development of French classical music. Born in Florence, Italy, to a family of musicians, Lully moved to Paris at a young age and became a member of the royal court. He composed numerous operas, ballets, and instrumental works, including the famous opera 'Ballet Royal de la Nuit'. Lully was also known for his innovative use of musical instruments and his development of the French style of music. He died in 1687 at the age of 55.
