Jingdezhen ceramic kiln, also known as Jingdezhen kilns, is a ceramic kiln located in Jingdezhen, China. It was named after the reign name of Emperor Zhenzong, in whose reign it became a major kiln site, around 1004. Jingdezhen may have produced pottery as early as the sixth century CE. By the 14th century, it had become the largest center of ceramic production in China, and was known for producing high-quality porcelain. The kiln was owned by the imperial court and produced porcelain for the emperor and his court. Jingdezhen ceramic kiln is widely known for producing porcelain that is 'as white as jade, as thin as paper, as bright as a mirror, and as sweet-sounding as a chime stone.' The kiln produced a variety of ceramic wares, including vases, bowls, and figurines. In the 19th century, the kiln began to produce porcelain for export to Europe and North America. The kiln is still in operation today and continues to produce high-quality ceramic wares.
