Biography:

Joaquim Pinto de Campos was a Brazilian writer and politician. He was born in Flores, Brazil in 1819 and died in Lisbon, Portugal in 1887. Pinto de Campos was active in provincial politics in the mid-19th century and corresponded personally with Emperor Dom Pedro II. He wrote a biography of the emperor, 'O Senhor D. Pedro II, imperador do Brasil', which was published in 1871.
