Job Patja Kekana was a South African sculptor, teacher, and artist. He was born on January 1, 1916, in Zebediela, South Africa. Kekana is known for his sculptures, particularly his portrait of Sister Pauline. He was a pioneering art teacher in South Africa and introduced the Arts and Crafts style to Africans in both South Africa and Rhodesia. Some of his students were among the first professional African artists in Rhodesia. Kekana passed away in 1974.
