Johann Anton Alban Ramboux was a German painter and lithographer. He was born in Trier, Germany on October 5, 1790 and died in Cologne, Germany on October 2, 1866. He was a member of the Nazarene movement, a group of early 19th-century German Romantic painters who aimed to revive spirituality in art.
