Johann Evangelist Scheffer von Leonhartshof was an Austrian painter and lithographer. He was born in Vienna in 1788 and died in the same city in 1870. He was a pupil of Johann Christian Friedrich Hölder and specialized in portrait painting. He was also known for his landscapes and genre scenes. He was ennobled in 1850 and added 'von Leonhartshof' to his name.
