Biography:
Johannes Spilberg was a German Baroque painter, active in Amsterdam during the period known as the Dutch Golden Age. He was born in Düsseldorf and learned to paint from his father. He then settled in Amsterdam and became apprentice to Govert Flinck, a student of Rembrandt. Spilberg is known for his portraits and religious paintings in the style of Flinck and Rembrandt.
