Born in Huddersfield, United Kingdom in 1980. Jonathan Trayte is a contemporary artist known for his sculptural furniture pieces that explore the boundary between food and art. He draws inspiration from consumer culture and the natural world to create unique works of art that challenge our perceptions of everyday objects. Trayte studied Fine Art at Kent Institute of Art and Design, graduating with a BFA in 2004. He then went on to complete his Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art from the Royal Academy Schools in London in 2010. Trayte has exhibited his work internationally, including at Friedman Benda gallery in New York and Sculpture in the City in London. Trayte's works are often large-scale and colorful, with a focus on materials such as bronze, resin, and ceramics. He has also worked with food items such as fruits and vegetables to create sculptures that challenge our perceptions of what is considered art. Trayte's work can be found in private collections around the world.
