Biography:
Jose Rosa Castellanos is a Puerto Rican graphic artist and painter. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in 1939. He studied mechanical drawing and commercial drawing at Central High School in Santurce. He began his career in art with painter Rafael Tufiño and did his graphic arts training at DIVEDCO. He is known for his work in printmaking and painting, and has been featured in exhibitions at El Museo del Barrio. He is also a specialist in repertoire for wind band and has served as director of the Escuela de Música José Ángel Lamas. He was awarded the Emma Soler Award for services to culture in 2017.
