Biography:

Josep Tramulles, also known as Josep Tremulles, was a Spanish sculptor born in Vilafranca del Penedès, Spain in 1603. He was a member of a prominent family of sculptors, including his father Antoni Tramulles and his brother Llàtzer Tramulles. Josep Tramulles worked in various locations, including Santa Coloma de Queralt, Valls, and Barcelona. He is best known for his work on the altarpiece of Sant Sebastià, created between 1647 and 1651. This altarpiece is a notable baroque work dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is located in the main altar of the Monastery of Santes Creus. Josep Tramulles also received recognition for his work at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1890, where he was awarded a first-class medal for his sculpture 'La Violinista'. He passed away at an unknown date.
