Biography:

Joseph Bordes was a French artist born in Toulouse in 1773. He was known for his miniature portraits in ivory, such as 'Portrait of a Woman' (1808) and 'Portrait of a Man' (ca. 1810). Bordes's works are highly regarded for their technical skill and sensitivity to the individual character of his subjects. He died after 1835.
