Biography:
Joyce Marquess Carey is an American artist born in 1936 in Racine, Wisconsin. She is known for her textile art and has been featured in exhibitions at the Racine Art Museum. Carey's work has been collected by the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Renwick Gallery. She has also been interviewed by the Archives of American Art for the Nanette L. Laitman Documentation Project for Craft and Decorative Arts in America. Carey's textile samples are part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum's collection. She is also known for her association with the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles.
