Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba is a Japanese-Vietnamese visual artist, born in Tokyo in 1968. He works in drawing and video art. He grew up in Japan and currently lives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Nguyen-Hatsushiba is known for his exploration of Vietnamese history and national identity in his films, which often reference issues such as the displacement of Vietnamese 'boat people' after the Vietnam War. Alienation is a principal theme in his work.
