Biography:

Kamo no Shigeyasu was a Japanese poet and priest born in Kyoto, Japan in 1119. He died in 1191. He was the head priest of the Kamo Shrine and is known for holding a Kyokusui no en in 1182. He is also known for soliciting private collections of 100 poems by contemporary poets of the Juei era, the Juei Hyakushu Kashū (寿永百首家集).
