Biography:

Kao Tsan-ching was a Taiwanese artist known for his sculptural pieces of iron and stainless steel. His works have significantly enriched and expanded the horizon of Taiwanese art during a period when three-dimensional artistic expression was gaining prominence in the country. Kao's work, 'The woman with an umbrella,' is particularly notable for its blue and green hues dominating the piece, depicting a woman dressed in traditional Chinese clothing holding an umbrella while sitting erect in a lushly grown courtyard.
