Biography:

Kathy M Liao is an artist born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1985. She is known for her mixed media works, including the piece 'Returning' (2022). Liao received her BFA from the University of Washington, Seattle, and her MFA from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and the Studios of Key West. Liao's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. Her work often explores themes of identity, culture, and memory, drawing from her experiences as an Asian American artist.
