Biography:

Kathy Inkamala is a Western Arrarnta woman, born at the Hermannsburg mission, and now living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). She is a granddaughter of Albert Namatjira, a famous Aboriginal artist known for his watercolour landscape paintings. Kathy is a member of the Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands Art Centre, an Aboriginal owned and directed art centre based in Alice Springs that supports the Hermannsburg School. She regularly experiments with materials, forms and methods of making to depict the beauty of her country in the painting style of the Hermannsburg School. Kathy's work has been exhibited in various galleries and museums, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Biennale of Sydney. She has also won several awards for her work, including the Works on Paper Award at the 35th National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in 2018.
