Biography:
Kazys Vosylius was a Lithuanian photographer born in Kaunas in 1909. He was one of the most important Lithuanian photographers of the 20th century. Vosylius was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Lithuania in 1920. He studied photography in Germany and returned to Lithuania in 1932. Vosylius worked as a photographer for various newspapers and magazines, including the Lithuanian daily Lietuvos aidas. He was a member of the Aušrininkai, a semi-formal socialist student movement in Lithuania. Vosylius was arrested in 1933 for his political activities and spent two years in prison. After his release, he continued to work as a photographer and became a member of the Lithuanian Photographic Society. Vosylius died in 1975.
